'Homemade' Hair Conditioning Treatment

Happy Friday the 13th Friends! ---*cue creepy music... ;)

Well, winter has officially arrived in Michigan as we woke up to a few inches of white puffy stuff. It's all fun & games until you realize that you have to shovel it. :/ Oh, what am I complaining about? I have like 10 whole feet to shovel. My parents on the other hand have like, oh you know- a billion feet to shovel.

So, it's winter and most of us will suffer at some point with dry skin. This time of year can also be extremely ruthless on our hair especially if we're blowdrying/curling/straightening it. Yikes! Isn't it time you gave your hair some TLC? I have the perfect treatment for you today that will leave your hair feeling like a million bucks.

We brought that Olive Oil back from Italy! :)
Homemade Hair Conditioning Treatment:

What you will need:

  1. 3/4 cup Olive Oil
  2. 1/2 cup Honey
  3. Juice of 1 Lemon

  • Whisk all three ingredients together well. This may take a few minutes to thicken up.
  • Pour into a jar or other storage container as you will have quite a bit left over for more treatments. *You will need to store this in the fridge once you are done using it.
  • Dampen hair under faucet and towel dry
  • Work a good amount of conditioner into hair by brushing it through with a comb.
  • Cover head with plastic wrap or a plastic bag and let the conditioner sit for 30 minutes.
  • Rinse well with shampoo and conditioner and then style as normal!

You will love how soft and beautiful this leaves your hair!
The best part is- it's all natural.  I hope you enjoy!

In other news: My awesome parents recently blessed me and gave me my childhood makeup armoire (I have used this since I was probably 13 or 14)! It now resides in the McBride home and it's getting ready to receive a little 'makeover'. I am going to be reupholstering the bench seat and replacing the drawer knobs, and yes- that will be a blog of it's own! This is an antique and very special to me. When my parents delivered it to our home they found a date on one of the inside drawers dating to the 1920's. :) Some man handcrafted this himself, isn't that just the bee's knees?  Stay tuned for all the excitement, and thank you for reading!
