Tri-color Dramatic Eye

Happy Valentines Day everyone! I hope that whether you are single or spending the day with a significant other, you can find a way to make the best of it and have some fun. How about trying a new makeup look? That is always fun. ;) It has been a while since I posted a makeup tutorial and I'd say it's about time!

Today I am going to show you how to achieve a beautiful tri-color dramatic eye that is sure to make a statement. I just love experimenting with new colors (I'll try almost anything) and the green I'm using today is especially awesome. The color is by Buxom and the name is 'Shih Tzu'.  :) I am 'sampling' this color right now (from Sephora, where else?) but I can tell you that I LOVE the way it goes on and blends. Not to mention that the pigment is outstanding!

Tri-color Dramatic Eye:

First you will start by priming your eye and then covering the entire lid with a light neutral color. Next you will take the bright green color and highlight your inner eye and up towards your brows.

Choose two colors that will add contrast and blend well together and work them over the middle and ends of the eyelid. I picked a pretty bronze for the middle of the eye and a really dark brownish-gray color for the outside. It may look a little funny at first (like your eye is Neapolitan ice cream or something) but once you blend it all together with a blending brush (see brush basics blog by clicking here if you need help with brushes) it will look fabulous!

All that is left to do is eyeliner on the top & bottom of the eye, mascara, and filling in your eyebrows. I prefer to use liquid on the top line- I think it really makes the eye stand out. When applying the liner below, try smudging it! You can buy makeup sponges of all sizes at most drug stores. When you smudge the lower liner it really gives a great smokey effect.

And again...

This week is shaping up to be a busy one for me as Ben and I are preparing to leave next week on a business trip (YOU all are coming with me! Yay!), and I am preaching this Sunday at our church. Yes, I'm nervous. Thankfully God will use anyone and I am just a voice that He can speak through!

Thank you soo much for reading. You guys are the reason I do this and I just love sharing this part of my life with you. I hope you are enjoying. LOVE you all... *See you again on Wednesday
Me stopping in to say Hi and Happy Valentines Day!
**Try the Look! Leopard is IN. Rock it.
