Today we will be taking a peek at a very pretty pastel eye look and how to create it with a short tutorial.
There are many beautiful pastel colors available right now in stores. And keep in mind that you don't have to spend a fortune on high end eye shadows if you use a great primer! ;) In case there are new readers who have yet to hear me ramble on about Urban Decay's primer potion.... BUY IT! It is so, so worth it. Click here to purchase.
Ok, let's get started!
Pastel Eye Look
First you will start by priming your eye. You will want to use some primer above and below the eye for this look as we will be placing some eye shadow on the lower lash line too.
Next you will go over the entire eye with a light purple or blue color. Take it all the way from lash to brow.
Now take a pastel pink color of your choosing and pat it into the inner corner of the eye like this:
(I apologize that the lighting isn't better. A new camera is coming soon!)
After you've applied the pink to both eyes, take a pastel blue and cover the lid area all the way out to the outer corner of the eye. Try to keep it on the lid 'only' as we will be placing another color in the crease. It should start looking something like this:
Now you are going to add a pastel green color to the crease of the eye. Don't be afraid to apply it all over the crease area. When you're finished you will use a blending brush to smooth it all together anyway:
Now is a good time to take your blending brush to the lid and blend it all together so that there aren't any harsh lines between the three colors.
You're pretty much finished with the top lid so let's talk about the bottom lash line.
Take a small makeup brush and swipe it in the pink color you used for the top lid. Line the inner corner underneath the eye and take it to about the middle of the lash line. Next, grab the green color you used in the crease area and apply that from the pink ending point all the way to the outer corner of the lower lash line:
Blend all colors together well then finish the look by filling in your eyebrows and applying two coats of a black mascara. Tada!! You're finished! This is a really easy yet fun look to create and it's perfect for spring and more importantly- Pastel Week at The Bee's Knees!
Thank you so much for all of your love, support, & comments! I really do appreciate it. I hope you are enjoying Pastel Week! Don't forget to come back on Friday for the final installment and I hope everyone has a beautiful day.
