What a busy yet productive day I've had thus far. This morning started with fun adventures at the downtown farmers market followed by landscape mulching. What a difference fresh red mulch can make! Not to mention the smell is amazing. I think I look forward to the weeks ahead of smelling it more than anything. ;)
Yesterday also brought fun adventures of its own as the estrogen levels of girls night at my house raised the roof! Poor Ben didn't stand a chance. He made his hide out at a local coffee shop for the night. He wasn't complaining. We enjoyed taco salad, authentic Italian pizzelles (made with love by my amazing Italian friend), played with makeup, and watched 'The Vow' (which was a fabulous movie by the way).
I even had the opportunity to do makeup for a sweet friend of mine, Emily, who was preparing to enjoy her very first school formal. She looked like a model. Here is a sneak peek of the finished product (isn't she beautiful?):
Today I'll be showing you how to give an old & outdated serving platter a makeover - for pennies. I found this pathetic little thing at the Goodwill and paid a whole .29 cents for it.
I had some reserve fabric left over from my vanity stool makeover back in January and I just love the pattern so I decided to use some of that for this project.
I traced the backside of the fabric with the outline of the tray to make sure it would be a perfect fit.
Here is how I used it for girls night yesterday:
Have a fabulous rest of your weekend everyone! See you back here next week. By the way- next week is going to be super fun. You probably don't want to miss it.
