"I Do"... A Shimmery Wedding Eye Tutorial

Friday, May 4, 2012

Our wedding day! He's still chasing me. ;)
Wedding bells are in the air!

The time of year is fast approaching once again- and whether you're a blushing bride-to-be or just a connoisseur of the gorgeous natural wedding eye, you will love this tutorial.

The 'wedding eye' is fresh on my mind as I will be doing makeup this year for at least a few upcoming weddings, and I'm 'soo' excited about that. :)

Today we will take things step-by-step as we review an easy picture tutorial on how to create this beautiful shimmery look. Some brides prefer to wear mattes on their special day and there will be a tutorial on that in the near future as well- so stick around.

Shimmery Wedding Eye

I started with Urban Decay's Eye Primer Potion in 'Sin'. This primer is unique because it shimmers and thus makes anything you put over top shimmer as well! It was appropriate for today's look.

All the colors I used today are by Lorac- a wonderful cosmetic line sold at Sephora. For this step I covered my whole lid with a beautiful light pink color.
Make sure you highlight the inner corners of both eyes (using a light pink color) to really create a 'doe eye' effect.
Next you will cover your lid with a shimmery light brown color.
Next you will add a medium-dark brown color to the outer corner of your lids 'only' Blend well.
Line the top and bottom of your eye with a dark brown eye shadow color- using a 'liner brush'.  *Note: on the lower lash line only take the liner out half way.
Notice the liner- only half way across the lower lash line.
Blended well!- I used a little pink shimmer color on the lower lash line to really soften everything.
Lid- blended.
Finished Product!
