Nautical Nails

Friday, June 8, 2012

Well, in retrospect, I probably should have just themed this 'Nautical Week' because that is clearly what's inspiring me at the moment.

Earlier this week Zentified Blog posted this image of nautical nails (found on Pinterest) to The Bee's Knees Facebook page saying they thought of me upon seeing it:
Can we say instant love?? -Thanks again Zentified!

The minute they posted the picture I knew it was time for this busy bee to re-create the look! And I did....
Let's take a peek at my version of 'Nautical Nails' shall we?

Materials Used: Various nail colors, top coat, quick dry, toothpicks, and a glass plate for the colors.
(Such a bummer that I didn't have the blingy gold dots like the picture above)

Apply polish- nautical colors of course. Alternate polish colors for each nail.

Take a toothpick and dip it into the nail color to create the designs. At least that's what worked for me.

Finished! :)

Bonus* -In the spirit of 'nautical-summery-beachy-ness' I want to share my 'beach wave' secret with you. Cool? Of course it helps having naturally curly hair, but my go-to beach wave product of choice is Aveda's Confixor gel. LOVE.
This product gives your hair curly-bouncy goodness without that rigid stiff feeling. Not to mention you might accidentally eat some because it smells so delicious. :)

Have a fabulous weekend everyone! Can't wait to be back with you again on Monday.
