1001 Sheets: KCAD Fashion Show

Monday, March 4, 2013

This weekend I had the opportunity to check out a local Michigan fashion show in Grand Rapids- and had a BLAST. The show was put on by Kendall College art students and each fashion piece that walked the runway was crafted entirely from paper! I basically had no idea what I was in for, but woah- I was pleasantly surprised. Probably one of the coolest things I've been to so far this year. The theme was 'geometric design', take a peek!!!::

First dress to take the runway. Crazy. Love, love, love it.
The only guy in the whole show.
Bow & dress- both paper. Crafted from tissue paper mostly.
Hydrangeas? Mad skill.
^A closer look ^
....and my favorite dress of the night. Louis Vuitton Spring Collection anyone?
After the show:

And last but not least, I'll leave you with a few 'short' video clips (not the best quality, heads up):

It's so cool to see Michigan emerging on the fashion map. There's so much talent right here in the Mitten, it's unbelievable! Thanks for reading (and watching) today. You're the best! Love you all.

  1. Now following! :)
I wish I would have gone to this last Friday! I almost went but had prior engagements, now I'm a little bummed I didn't go. Looks like a great turnout!
    Have a great week! :)

    1. It 'was' a good time! You should definitely plan on coming next year. :)

It's so fun to connect with fellow Michigan bloggers! I emailed Teika about a 'blogger meetup' and I think we're planning one for May! Wouldn't that be fun? You have a great week too.. Nice to meet you.

  2. Oh my gosh, Eric and I were totally there! I was pleasantly surprised with some of the pieces they came up with using all paper! Pretty nuts. Eric and I got there late and ended up having to stand in the way back, but it was fun!

And yes, I really need to get cracking on a blogger meetup for May. :D

    1. Bummer we couldn't meet up! I'm really looking forward to May. :)

  3. What an incredible thing to be apart of and see! What interesting pieces!!
