Coffee at My House! Come join me.

Today I'm inviting you to come and see how Ben and I enjoy our coffee (well, espresso really) every morning! After our trip to Italy we got a teeny bit spoiled and have been drinking our coffee this way every since. You may have seen a Moka Pot before, but if not- they look (and work) like this:

I have tried endless methods of making espresso and coffee, and this is, to date, my favorite way!

My sweet husband gets up 'every' morning and makes me espresso. Yes, I'm grateful. So grateful! In honor of him being awesome and because I want to share coffee with you this morning, let's take a peek at the process- start to finish!
Great coffee starts with great beans! We LOVE Ugly Mug Espresso beans. Ugly Mug is a Michigan treasure and the beans are roasted right on site in Ypsilanti, MI.

We start with two scoops (*tablespoons) of beans and pour them into the grinder.
Yes, we use a hand grinder. And yes, it will give you an upper-body workout.  ;)
Yummo!- freshly ground >>
Pour into the Moka Pot...
Add a filter...
Screw on the top and put it on the stove!! *Medium heat.
Look at how 'used' this baby looks. :) Ben purchased this pot in 2007! Talk about durable.
Mmmmmmm..... If only I could transfer aromas through the computer. *Sniff, sniff*
And there you have it- the perfect cup o' joe!
My favorite mug in the world... I don't know why, I just love this thing. Do you have a favorite mug too?

If you're looking to change up your coffee routine, you should definitely consider trying a Moka Pot! I think you'll love it. You can find them at most Target stores 'or' at Tj Maxx, Marshalls, or Home Goods.

Three cheers for Ben as he helped me compile this blog post today! :)

Coffee hugs from me to you! Have a beautiful day friends, after all- it's Friday!

  4. I am trying to figure out your coffee pot. Does it suck the coffee up into the upper pot? My father made coffee in a vacuum pot. You put the water in the bottom, the coffee in the top part, and when the water boiled, it sucked the water up into the upper pot, and then you took it off the stove and it seeped back down into the lower pot again. Is that kind of what your moka pot does. It made the best coffee.

Loved you blog, and love your love for coffee!

    1. Yes, the pressure sucks the water from the bottom to the top and through the layer of espresso grounds. It makes the most delicious coffee. I've heard of 'several' people now who are hooked on this Italian method of coffee brewing. We'll have to bring ours with us when we come to visit you!
