I don't know about your corner of the world, but it's been a winter wonderland here lately! I'm talking- non-stop snow and picturesque scenery. I'm thinking a white Christmas is on the agenda, and I'm SO happy about it! Nothing worse than a brown Christmas in Michigan. It's happened before and it's so not cool. And the way I see it- if it's going to be cold, we might as well have a little snow to brighten things up and add some Christmas cheer! Another bonus of having snow?- extended daylight on clear days.
Example- these pictures were taken at 5:15 pm last night. That's usually too late to snap good pictures as the sun is gone here by 5:00 (depressing, I know). But on a clear night like this, when the last bit of sun is reflecting off the snow, pictures are still possible! Sometimes it's hard to get motivated and find time for shoots when it's dark so early and Ben works until 5:00.
This year, I'm determined to wear bright colors throughout the winter season. I enjoy a good pop of color and it helps to brighten my mood, too! No reason to stick to dull colors just because it's chilly out, right? I paired my purple peacoat with this thrifted head scarf to go out shopping yesterday. And it was actually somewhat functional as it helped to keep my ears warm! Can you believe I snagged this Laura Ashley pure silk scarf for just .99 cents? Crazy. I'm such a believer in thrifting.
How is everyone doing with their Christmas shopping? I still feel a little behind, but things are beginning to come together. I can't wait to start wrapping this weekend. I love to watch as the presents start to make their appearance under the tree. :) My work Christmas break is coming up in just a few days and I can't WAIT to enjoy some needed down time. I always look forward to cleaning the house and preparing myself mentally for the upcoming year. There's something so thrilling about goal-setting and dreaming with the hubby.
Wishing you all a great week!
