Vintage Blazer + 25 Days of Merriment

Friday, December 6, 2013

TGIF! Whew.. The past week (and a half) has been pretty much non-stop for this girl. So thankful for fridays and subsequently, the weekend! We entertained family at our home this Thanksgiving and I definitely fell behind a bit on getting posts together for you guys, so I apologize for that. But we've been having 'such' an amazing time getting ourselves in the Christmas spirit, decorating, and attending local festivities. I'm sure some of you can relate.
I found this gem of a blazer a few weeks back while I was out thrifting and today I finally got to style and wear it! It was one of those 'love at first sight' items that looks like it's been reserved just for you. Know what I mean? This baby is a vintage JcPenney Worthington blazer, straight out of the late 70's or 80's (I can't tell exactly). But it's literally in pristine condition.

The price, you ask? Oh you know, a whole whopping $2.00. Yes sir, that's how we thrift. ;) I pranced out of that store feelin' like a champ.
You guys, I'm SOO enjoying my hair growing out. You just have no idea. I've waited a long time for this. For Christmas I want one of those wand curling irons that has no clip. I just love the breezy, messy waves it creates. For now I'm using a 1 inch curling iron and wrapping my hair around the outside of the barrel. It works ok, but I'm hoping Santa brings me a wand!
Speaking of Santa and Christmas stuff... Ben and I have decided to do something fun together this year for the 25 days of Christmas. *Which we're calling 'The 25 days of merriment'.

Every day in December we're doing something sweet for each other in the form of holiday merriment. This can be anything, big or small. We rotate days so I'll take one and he'll take the next. The other night I came home from a ladies tea and Ben had the lights strung around the outside of the house for me. Boom- merriment. It brought such a smile to my face. If you love this season as much a we do, you might want to give it a go! It's been a blast so far. Today was my turn so I brought a Christmas cookie and a coffee to him at work.
Wishing all a great weekend!
