Merry Christmas, friends!
I hope this day has been beautiful and peaceful for each of you. I love the calm that Christmas brings. Shops are closed, streets are quiet, and everything seems to stand still for an entire day.
Unfortunately, Ben and I came down quite ill yesterday with the flu and have been completely quarantined to our home. So sad, I know. We couldn't even gather with any of our family or friends due to the chance of spreading this nasty bug. This is the first time in my entire life that I haven't been with family for Christmas. Thankfully, I have Ben, and we've made the most of things in spite of the circumstances. We enjoyed a peaceful morning together opening gifts and shared a nice homemade breakfast. And the good news is that we're feeling much better already- definitely on the mend.
We have had an unbelievable amount of snow here in Michigan this December. I mean, a lot! Last Sunday we had a nasty ice storm roll through the area that has left many without power. There are trees and branches down everywhere here. And even though the damage of the storm has been widespread, I can't help but admire the beautiful scenery of ice-covered branches and other foliage.
I recently acquired my first pair of sneaker wedges and I'm in love! Total comfort with a little 'snazz' to spice up jeans- perfect. I could seriously walk in these all day.
