Happy New Year, Friends!

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful New Year's Eve with those closest to you, I know I did. We had a small get together at our home with dear friends and it was perfect. I love those long conversations that unfold over hours, don't you? Girl time is just wonderful. The guys hung out in the 'man cave' doing guy things and the gals drank homemade chai tea (thanks, Laura!) and solved the worlds problems. ;)
These pictures were taken early last week (before the death flu hit) as Ben and I were out on our Christmas date. We shopped, watched the movie Frozen, and capped off our night with a fish & chips dinner at an Irish pub. It was literally the perfect day and I'm only sad that we came down so sick the next day. Boo. Thankfully, we've recovered really well!

Anyway, I love these pictures because they really showcase some of the beauty of last week's ice and snow storm. It was so gorgeous out.
Just look at those ice-covered branches ^^
I've had this hat I found at an estate sale for several months and finally took the opportunity to wear it. Sometimes I hesitate to wear hats and I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because they draw so much attention and sometimes I get insecure about people staring at me. I don't know. But I will tell you this- I've never received more compliments on a hat in my life. I had random ladies (young and old) coming up to me saying they loved it and asking where I got it. Needless to say, I'm making it a new year's resolution to incorporate more hats into my wardrobe. They're fun! And really, who cares what anyone else thinks? If you want to wear the hat, wear it!
Wishing you all the happiest of New Years! Let's make it a great year of setting new goals and achieving them so that next year at this time we can say 'we did it'!
