On Hope...

Monday, April 7, 2014

The sun is making a comeback.
I was beginning to wonder if it would ever peek its pretty face out again and shine on me. I'm happy to report- it has. What a relief. I firmly believe that there was something a little deeper going on this winter than just 'abnormally cold' temperatures. Yes, it was something else too. In a way, it was like God was teaching me something very important through these tough, dreary months.
Hope that doesn't disappoint. Hope that gets you through even the worst days. Hope that makes the spring flowers SO much more sweet and beautiful. Hope. That's it! The other day I was reminded of this Bible verse- "As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night." (Gen. 8:22 NLT)
What a great promise and something to put your 'hope' in. Michigan has seen so much destruction this winter- bad roads and potholes, an ice storm that destroyed and/or damaged trees, homes, etc.., snow storms that resulted in entire counties being put under a state of emergency, extended power outages, and the list goes on.

That's why this spring is so wonderful to me. That's why I'm smiling and in great spirits. I have hope, and it's not disappointing! The flowers are emerging, the sun is shining, and April showers are underway. God is good and I'm so ready for this new season, and summer right around the corner! Can anyone else relate?
I recently snagged this blazer from the J. Crew clearance rack for under $20 dollars! *the happy dance ensued* I was one excited girl. This is the BEST time of year to shop, I firmly believe that. Deals are abounding everywhere! Go out and take advantage of them.
So, I'm sincerely 'trying' to add more color into my wardrobe (I promise), but I just can't seem navigate away from my black pants. I love them. I guess I need a spring wardrobe intervention, asap! ;)

I hope you have a beautiful week, friends! My birthday is this Thursday and the celebrating has already started! I'm so grateful for a family who loves me and showers me with little blessings around my birthday. This weekend my mom, sister, and I are heading out on weekend b-day shopping trip!! I can hardly wait. We've had this on the calendar for a while and we're just a 'little' giddy about it. :)
