At the Park + A Fall Must-Have

This weekend Ben and I took a beautiful stroll though our city's park at dusk. It was that 'perfect' autumn weather and after eating a delicious (but filling) dinner at a local Mexican restaurant, a walk was just what we needed! We're really fortunate to have such a nice and well-kept park so close to us. We can pretty much walk to it. There's a footbridge, castle, river, arts center, and trails all close by. After walking around we rented a movie and stayed in for the night. Sometimes staying home is good for the soul... can I get an amen?

Other than that, we had a pretty laid back weekend. We celebrated my dad's birthday on Saturday (which was SO fun) and made one of his new favorite meals- Charleston-style shrimp and grits! So, so, delicious. And it kind of took us back to our trip to Charleston this past May, so that's always good. ;) As we sang happy birthday around the table for my dad I teared up on the inside thinking of how glad I am for birthdays. How glad I am to have my parents alive and well. Birthdays are 'always' something worth celebrating! And the way I see it- growing older is a privilege to be grateful for. Not everyone gets to.

Today I'm linking up with Carly and Molly. The theme this week is 'Fall Must Haves'. And one of my #1 MUST haves is a denim jacket like the one I'm wearing here from Gap. You can pretty much wear jean jackets with anything and that's what I love about them. You can easily transition a maxi dress, sundress, whatever! And lately, this weather is perfect for layering and transitioning outfits from summer to fall. I am loving the ease of throwing this jacket on over an outfit and calling it good. That's all for me! See you back here soon.

Outfit:
Dress: Thrifted
Jacket: Gap
Purse: Philip Lim for Target
Boots: Merona
