It's finally here- the most beautiful month of the year in Michigan, in my opinion. There's just something so magical about the fall time. Yes, it's a brief season, but that just adds to the thrill of it. It's like an urge suddenly overtakes you and you just want to furiously devour everything at once. The smell of the leaves on the ground, the spectacular show of color, the tastes of the cider mill, the crisp feel of a walk... Perfection. I'm savoring every moment I can because sadly, I know it won't last. But for now, I'm letting the exhilaration rush do its work, and it is GOOD.
If I could describe my go-to fall 'mom' outfit, it would be something like this: big sweater, cowl scarf, and jeans. I'm into functional *and* comfy most days and that's just fine with me. H&M makes it easy with sweaters like this one I'm wearing. It goes with anything, it's warm, and it's affordable. I'm definitely feeling the need to go for a little 'scarf binge' shopping excursion soon. I can't get enough of them this year, and it's a no-brainer way to instantly jazz up an outfit.
These pictures were taken in front of one of the most beautiful historic homes in Owosso, the Gould House. Incredible. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and take a tour. I still love admiring it and I've lived here for a while now. This yellow maple tree was so brilliant, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to snap some pictures by it while we were out. We're almost in our peak color season. Maybe another week or so, but dang, things are gorgeous here.
That face... can you even? Even Winston is enjoying the fall. ;) He is such a trooper and loves being outside. I don't know if you can tell in the picture above, but he's smiling at mommy. He puts up with Ben and me taking pictures like a champ. He's such a happy boy and he changes every day! He's laughing out loud a lot lately and he's trying SO HARD to master the roll-over. I sure do love him.
I scored these shoes at our local Goodwill for $2.99. WHAT. They are true vintage as the tag on the inside is super old, but they look like they've never been worn! I'll be showing them lots of love this fall.
We're only a few days away from our annual fall colors tour! Ben and I have made it a yearly tradition and I'm so glad we carve out time for this each year. It's 'so' relaxing and really helps us soak it all in for the weekend. The place we're staying this year has a campfire pit and the lodge sits on a small lake, I can't wait! I'm way overdue for a campfire and s'mores.
