St. Patty's Day Eyes

Wednesday, March 16, 2016

Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day, and for me that means binging on a medium shamrock shake and then running an extra mile at the gym later on. I'm so exciting, right?! *Wink.

In the spirit of St. Patty's, here's a fun green & gold eye tutorial for you to try. Hey, at least it'll keep you from getting pinched. Green is one of the best colors for brown eyes especially, so I tend to grab for greens quite frequently when I wear eyeshadow (which isn't 'all' that often right now because, #motherhood).

Begin by applying eyeshadow primer to both eyelids so that you can be sure your shadow is going to stay put! Once your primer is applied, cover your lid and part of your brow with a light brown/copper hue. I chose this color by Mary Kay. It's even called 'Lucky Penny'. Not planned, but appropriate.

Next you'll want a nice deep green eyeliner to apply all over your top lid line. I like this color by Avon. It's their 'Emerald' Glimmerstick. It's super pigmented and awesome.

Next, choose a similar green eyeshadow color to pat over top of the liner. This will help keep the liner in place and really make the color pop! I used this bright green by Sephora.

Continue blending the green up into the crease of the eyelid.

Now you're going to take a bright gold eyeliner and cover your lower lash line.

Finish with two coats of mascara. I chose Covergirl's Lash Blast Volume in blackest black.

And you're done!

I hope everyone's having a great week so far! I can't believe this Sunday is the first day of Spring! I mean, really, our winter was pretty darn mild in my opinion. But dang, the older I get the more it becomes abundantly clear- I'M A SUMMER GAL. I love everything about it. It's glorious and beautiful and hot and perfect. All of my best memories revolve around summer. Vacations, ice cream, road trips, beaches, barbecues, camp fires, biking, and the list goes on. SO- cheers to spring coming and longer days, friends. See you back here tomorrow with a 'super' fun hair tutorial. I know you'll love it.
