Boyne City Marina

Is there anything better than summer day trips? I live for this season. Michigan is unique because it's virtually surrounded by water, so it's never a far drive to get to one of the Great Lakes and take in the views. I was invited up to Lavender Hill Farm's season opening event in Boyne City yesterday and so naturally I took my sister with me who's (obsessed) in love with anything lavender. We had the best time! Perfect weather, delicious foods, champagne, lavender, sightseeing, and girl time. It was a hike to get up there but all those hours in the car with your sister/best friend equals hours of laughing at stupid jokes and catching up on ALL of life's things.

I'm going to be working more with Lavender Hill Farm this summer when all the lavender is in bloom, so you'll hear more about that in July. ;) I can't wait.

Boyne City Marina is a gem. We sort of 'accidentally' stumbled upon it on our way up to the farm and I'm so glad we did. The water was crystal clear and we spotted several ginormous fish. I love looking at all the beautiful sailboats and pretending they're mine.

I couldn't post this without sharing a picture of my babe sister- and impromptu photographer. What a champ for helping me out. Love her.

I hope you all have a great week ahead. We're finally in the season of summer produce here in Michigan so the strawberries, asparagus, and other goodies are starting to come in full swing! So nice to enjoy local foods. This week we're heading out to a farm to u-pick some strawberries. Small, sweet, and delicious- nothing like them! I also have a fun girl's night out event that I'll be attending this Friday at Birch & Elm and I'm looking forward to that.

Have a great week!
