Cooking class with the gals

Friday, November 11, 2016

This Wednesday I attended my first cooking class at Le Creuset in Birch Run with my mom and sister. It was a blast! Since we were heading to an outlet mall, we made a trip of it and left a little early to get in some Christmas shopping and lattes from Starbucks (because their seasonal beverages are back, yay!). The weather was perfect for this oversized (and really toasty) geo cardigan. I've had this for a while now and I'm just now getting around to sharing it, but I love it! So dang easy to style and throw on over a long tee. I need more of these in my life.

^ My sister and best friend. ^

When we arrived at Le Creuset they had a wonderful spread of appetizers and beverages to snack on. Those shortbread cookies with chocolate bottoms were especially lethal. ;) So good.

On the menu: a delicious stuffed butternut squash recipe! Absolutely perfect for the season. I will be making this again and again in the future. It was heavenly. The salty and sweet with chorizo and maple syrup- perfection.

Our chef used a local maple syrup for the stuffing! ^ The chorizo sausage was sourced locally too.

Finished product! Yum. We wrapped up the night with a homemade cherry reduction sauce over vanilla bean ice cream. There are no pictures to share because, well, I devoured it before I had time to snap the ol' camera. Hehe.

Tomorrow is Ben's birthday so I'm taking him out tonight to celebrate! What are your weekend plans? Today we're taking measurements at our 'soon-to-be' new home for the kitchen appliances, window coverings, etc. I can't believe this is almost a reality! It's been a long, hard season but we're almost to the finish line. More to come on home stuff, stay tuned.

Wishing you a great weekend, friends!
